Third grade has a writing packet to work on.  Below is a suggestion of how to break out the assignments. Please turn in all stages of the writing process. 
 
Monday -revise and edit paragraphs in the packet. 
Tuesday -   Write a composition about your first day at school. Use a thinking map to plan your writing.
Wednesday- Use the thinking map created yesterday to start drafting their composition.  (put ideas from them web into sentences)
Thursday - Revise the draft for complete sentences, capitalization, and punctuation.  Rewrite the draft for a final copy.

This week your scholar has paper homework.  Please use the reading strategies that were handed out at STAAR Night and in your scholar's binder to complete the passage.  Please have them complete it first by themselves.  If they have not shown their work, please give it back to them and have them prove their answers. Once they are finished, please look over it and help them with any questions or areas they need additional help. As we get closer to the test day, it is important the scholars are using their skills to work independently.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email.
